Fat Transfer

For patients seeking a more permanent result, fat transfer for lip volume may be just what the doctor ordered. Here, we harvest fat from a donor site, usually the abdomen, thigh, or buttocks and transfer it to the lip area. Because the filler is not a synthesized or foreign product, fat transfer offers no risk of allergic reaction.

The process will include liposuction to harvest the fat. Then, the fat will be prepared in a centrifuge or filtration system. Next, we will inject the fat into the target areas to restore volume and shape lip contours.

The fat that successfully transfers is permanent. Because some fat will not survive the transfer, multiple sessions may be necessary to achieve desired results.
