BOTOX®, Dysport, Xeomin® – New Orleans
Every smile, frown, and raised eyebrow helps us communicate our emotions to the world. But the repeated muscle contractions that allow us to express ourselves can cause wrinkles over time. From horizontal lines across the forehead to furrows between the eyebrows, these movement-related wrinkles are some of the most frustrating signs of age to treat.
Men and women now have a non-surgical option for addressing these cosmetic concerns: neuromodulator injectables. Available as BOTOX®, Dysport®, and Xeomin®, neuromodulator injectables soften movement-related wrinkles and produce a smooth, revitalized appearance.
You’ve lived a full, expressive life – but that doesn’t mean you have to proudly wear your wrinkles. With injectables like BOTOX®, Dysport, and Xeomin®, you can age gracefully and embrace life with confidence.

BOTOX®, Dysport, Xeomin®: How They Work
BOTOX®, Dysport, and Xeomin® are neuromodulators, which means they block the nerve impulses in the muscles surrounding wrinkles. While these injectables have slightly different formulations, they are all made from substance from a naturally-occurring bacterium (Clostridium botulinum) that has been produced and refined.
So how do these injectables treat wrinkles? Once injected, neuromodulators block the nerve impulses that cause muscles to contract, which essentially forces them to relax. As a result, the corresponding wrinkles soften and disappear.
This quick, in-office treatment usually takes no more than 30 minutes to perform, and it provides truly natural-looking rejuvenation. And since there is no surgery or general anesthesia required, even the busiest lifestyles can accommodate a treatment session.

Is BOTOX®, Dysport, or Xeomin® Right for You?
There is no ideal age for BOTOX®, Dysport, and Xeomin®, since the factors that contribute to aging will vary from patient to patient. When you are no longer comfortable with your appearance due to movement-related wrinkles, then it may be time to consider these injectables.
Men and women seeking neuromodulator injections in New Orleans typically want to reduce the appearance of the following:
- Crow’s feet
- Horizontal forehead lines
- Glabellar lines between the eyebrows (also called “elevens” or frown lines)
- “Bunny lines” that are visible when scrunching the nose
- Vertical neck cords
- Vertical lip lines (“smoker’s lines”)
Candidates should also be in good health and should not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
If you also have surface depressions like marionette lines and nasolabial folds, you may want to consider dermal fillers like Juvéderm® or Restylane® as well. While neuromodulators are excellent at treating dynamic wrinkles, they cannot treat static wrinkles that appear elsewhere on the face. But when performed together, dermal fillers and neuromodulators can produce optimal rejuvenation.

Frequently Asked Questions about BOTOX® & Filler
What is recovery like after BOTOX®?
Generally, there is almost no recovery time required after BOTOX® treatments at Etre. Some patients may have small red marks that persist for 5-10 minutes after treatment, but patients can use make-up and resume normal activities. We advise patients not to rub the areas treated for about an hour after treatment.
Rarely, patients complain of a slight headache that can be treated with acetaminophen if necessary. BOTOX® treatments generally start to take effect in 2-3 days, with full results seen in 10-14 days.
What is recovery like after a filler?
After filler treatments at Etre, patients may apply make-up and return to work immediately afterward, if needed. With filler treatments, we advise patients to try to use ice or cool packs on the areas treated every 2-3 hours for 5 minutes. This can reduce swelling and decrease the risk of bruising, which is rare. We also advise patients to avoid vigorous activity, as this can increase the risk of bruising.
Filler patients may experience mild swelling for about 24 hours after treatment. Filler results are apparent immediately after treatment; however, full results can take up to 2 weeks, as most fillers absorb water and plump more during this time.
Who is a candidate for filler treatments?
Generally, those with volume loss or those seeking to enhance specific areas of the face are candidates for fillers. Fillers can decrease the appearance of wrinkles, reduce sagging, lift cheeks, fill under-eye hollows, augment lips, smooth jawlines, and balance asymmetry.
Different types of fillers are used in different areas of the face; the expert Doctors at Etre will choose the appropriate filler for you.
When can I go back to work after injection treatments?
After BOTOX® or filler injections at Etre, patients may return to work and wear makeup immediately afterward.
What can I do to prevent or treat bruising after injections?
Thankfully, bruising from treatments at Etre is rare. For patients that are planning to undergo injections, we recommend that they stop all blood-thinning medications, alcohol, and supplements (Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Vitamin E, and Fish oil) 3-4 days before a treatment to decrease the risk of bruising.
We use ice packs on the areas prior to and immediately after filler treatments to decrease the chance of bruising. For patients who are concerned about the possibility of bruising, we recommend taking Arnica Montana supplements starting the day before their planned injections.
On the off chance that a patient experiences a bruise after an injection, we offer patients a free laser treatment to reduce the bruise. These treatments can make a bruise disappear in as little as a day.
What is the difference between BOTOX®, Xeomin®, Jeauveau®, and Dysport®?
BOTOX®, Xeomin®, Jeauveau®, and Dysport® are different name brands of neuromodulators. BOTOX® is the name most patients know, but all of the neuromodulators are very similar in the effect that they produce. There are slight variations between the brands, but good results can be obtained with any of the products. Some patients may find that they get better results with one of the products over the others.
We use all brands of neuromodulators at Etre. The Doctors will help you to choose which one works best for your desired outcome.
What is the difference between Juvéderm® and® Restylane® and other filler brands?
Juvéderm® and® Restylane® are the most common filler family brands. Both brands have multiple filler types that are used for different areas. Some fillers, like Juvéderm® Voluma® and Restylane® Lyft®, are used to lift cheeks and provide more volume. Others, like Juvéderm® Volbella® or Restylane® Kysse®, are smoothers that fill fine lines. The products are all slightly different, but the end results are similar when injected by an experienced Physician at Etre.
When it comes to filler choice, the Physicians at Etre will guide you on the appropriate filler to give you the best results. Often times, different fillers will be used at the same time in order to make you look your best. At Etre, we believe the most important part of any injectable treatment is to look natural and look your best.
How is filler done for hands?
As we age, our hands lose volume, becoming bonier and thinner in appearance. Fillers can restore this volume and rejuvenate the look of the hands. At Etre, we used several different fillers to fill the hands, depending on the degree of thinning.
Like filler injections elsewhere, filler is injected into the hands with only a topical numbing agent and the use of ice.
What is the aftercare for filler done in hands?
Like fillers elsewhere, at Etre, we recommend the patients ice the hands every few hours after treatments. Some patients can experience some slight swelling of their fingers after treatment. We may recommend not to wear tight-fitting rings for 24 hours after treatment. As with fillers in general, we ask patients to avoid vigorous activity for 24 hours after treatment of the hands; however, patients can resume normal activities right away.

They say with age comes wisdom—but why does wisdom always seem to come at the expense of beauty? As you get older, it’s completely natural for your face to begin to look “hollow”, especially under the eyes and in the cheeks. Typically, this hollowness gives way to deep wrinkles and unwanted...
